Optional feedback and device pairing

Feedback stores only aggregate counts per answer, without free text or personal identifiers. Device pairing stores an encrypted packet and derived identifier valid for at most ten minutes, consumed once. Expired entries are removed when new codes are generated. The recovery key is never sent in plain text. Cloudflare processes technical network data and rate-limits requests to prevent abuse.

Use without an account

Games, journey progress, favourites and settings are stored in your browser to provide and retain the features you choose. We currently load no third-party analytics or advertising. Page caching enables previously visited pages to work offline.

Optional account and backup

Only if you activate it, we send Cloudflare an encrypted copy of your games, statistics, favourites and journey. We ask for no name, email or date of birth. The recovery key is generated in your browser and is not sent to the server. The server stores a derived identifier, encrypted backup, revision and update date. Visual preferences are excluded from the backup.

Backups are saved and restored when you use the corresponding controls. There is no background sync. Anyone who knows your key can access the backup. Lost keys cannot be recovered. You may remember the key on a personal device; signing out removes it from that device. The backup remains until you request deletion from My account.

Hosting and external services

Cloudflare hosts this website and processes technical connection data, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect it. Request limiting uses connection data; the backup database does not store IP addresses. Buy Me a Coffee handles contributions on its own website under its own terms. Linked educational sources are independent sites. Read-aloud depends on the device’s voices and services.

Advertising and children

AdSense is not active. Before introducing ads we will update this information and the required consent options, including appropriate protections for children. The website does not request children’s personal information or provide chats or public profiles. An adult can help with use and keeping keys safe.

Control of your data

You can delete the encrypted backup from My account. Clearing local data does not delete the cloud backup and may lose your key unless you keep it elsewhere. After restoring, the prior local copy is kept for undo and replaced on the next restore. For questions about your data, contact us without sending your key.
